Scope: Interior Renovation | 6,000 sq. ft.
Cook & Krupa successfully transformed 6,000 square feet of previously vacant second-floor rental space into a modern, fully functional treatment center for NYPCC. The goal: to deliver a thoughtfully designed environment that balances aesthetics, functionality, and client care.
The project began with full interior demolition, including the removal of outdated ceiling grids and tiles to create a clean, open workspace for efficient coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) trades. Upgrades included the installation of new ductwork and diffusers for three rooftop units (RTUs), rerouted sprinkler piping to fit the new HVAC layout, and updated electrical conduits and plumbing infrastructure to meet the demands of a high-functioning facility.
The reimagined space includes 27 private treatment rooms, a clerical office, a conference room, a warm and welcoming reception area, as well as dedicated printer and storage rooms. Each treatment space is outfitted with custom cabinetry, desks, and comfortable seating to ensure both staff functionality and patient comfort. The waiting area and shared spaces were designed with attention to detail, providing a calm, inviting atmosphere. Final finishes included durable new flooring, custom millwork, stylish wallcovering, reception windows with blinds, and a full interior fresh coat of paint.
By revitalizing underutilized space, Cook & Krupa helped NYPCC expand its capacity and enhance its ability to deliver compassionate, accessible mental health services in a setting that reflects both professionalism and care.
